Employment with the DVSC
Discover how to apply for a job with us, what we offer our people and the career opportunities available.
The Defence and Veterans’ Service Commission (DVSC) is an independent Commonwealth agency established by the Australian Government.
Together we work to oversee, inquire and report on system reforms across the whole Defence and veteran ecosystem to prevent suicide and promote wellbeing for serving and ex-serving ADF members.
We are not part of the Department of Defence, or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, or the Australian Defence Force, or any other department or agency.
As a new agency established on 29 September 2025, the DVSC is recruiting new staff and capabilities now and over the coming year.
We are looking to recruit high performing and dedicated staff from a range of capabilities, who demonstrate integrity, independence and compassion.
We value diversity and encourage people from different backgrounds and disciplines to consider a career with us. We encourage and welcome applications from people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQ+ people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and mature age people.
To understand the nature and significance of the reforms underway, we encourage prospective applicants to be familiar with the findings and recommendations of the Final Report of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
