In the course of their work, the Commissioner will be interested in hearing from people with lived experience – whether currently serving in the ADF, former ADF members, or a family member or someone who is supporting them. These insights might relate directly or indirectly to suicide and suicidality inn the Defence and veteran ecosystem, but could also be about other matters relating to the systemic prevention of suicide for current and ex-serving ADF members.
Submissions
To support the inquiries of the Commissioner, the DVSC will call for submissions from organisations and individuals across the Defence and veteran ecosystem.

Hearings
To support the inquiries of the Defence and Veterans’ Service Commissioner, the DVSC may hold public or private hearings into particular matters.
